What can M-Track be used for???

Easily accessible

M-Track is a browser-accessible tool, negating any need for special software or configuration on the client computer. The project managers, the engineers and senior management can all access information on what is planned and the current status from wherever they are.

Close collaboration

M-Track allows simultaneous multi-user operation, which means that all project resources can review, update or report upon project activities independently without impacting each other or having to merge changes.  Updates don't need to flow through a project manager like a post office; everyone simply reviews or updates the source of truth directly.  The project manager can create regular, periodic, formal status reports as required, without needing to collate input from multiple resources.

Always up-to-date

M-Track updates are made in real-time, allowing all changes to be visible to all users immediately, reducing the need for separate reports and follow-up.  Project managers and senior management can see when activities have started without the engineers having to send additional emails, changes to scope are reflected immediately without having to ensure everyone has seen a news update.

Clear work assignments

Built-in alerting

Activities can be assigned directly to different individuals or teams. A separate task list is not necessary to advise resources on their responsibilities. All resources can clearly see their next activity, and there is no confusion over who is supposed to be performing any particular step.

Custom views

Alerts can be generated to flag any work assigned or activities that are running behind schedule.  Resources can be automatically advised of their next task, and delays that are impacting progress can be recognised without delay.

Work templates

Dashboards can be customised to suit each user and their role, providing a clear view of information relevant to their responsibility.  Project managers can see everything they need to manage the work, engineers have a clear focus on their responsibilities and senior managers can gain an overview without being drowned in detail.

Not just activities

Fully auditable

Project Managers can create workflow templates to easily produce repeating phases of activities such as when performing migrations in multiple waves. Once a template is created, multiple waves of work with different schedules and physical scope can be defined with little effort.

A database of in-scope infrastructure items can be created (or imported from CMDB extracts) to allow linkage between the activities and the infrastructure elements. Linkage between the work being performed and the infrastructure items adds a dimension of progress and completion the traditional project management tools cannot offer.

All updates are recorded in audit logs, allowing complete governance of project work and status updates.  Addition or deletion of activities, updates to dates and commencement / completion dates can all be reviewed to ensure full transparency.
